Bickie exists because every personal-finance product worth using was built for someone else. American 401(k)s. UK ISAs. Mortgage-interest tax deduction. None of it maps onto how Australian salaries, super, and tax actually work.
So you get spreadsheets, a YNAB plus mental math, and a vague feeling that the FIRE date in your head might be off by a decade. That's the bar to clear.
What Bickie is.
Bickie is small and opinionated, and it takes Australian rules seriously. Concessional caps. Division 293. CGT discount. State-by-state stamp duty. Offset accounts. Negatively-geared property. We model them properly. We don't patch them onto a US engine.
What Bickie isn't.
A bank. An advisor. A scraper that holds your bank passwords. A social network of people humble-bragging about their net worth. Something you have to feed for an hour a week to be useful.
Who I am.
Brandon. Software engineer in Sydney. Built Bickie because I wanted it for myself, and the existing options were either toys, Excel files, or aimed at retirees in Florida. If you're building something similar, please email me, I'd love to compare notes.
